And remember ...... if it hasn't got one of "Uncle Flip's" prosthetic kickers it isn't a real motorbike!!!
Morning all,
With the kind help of Cruza we managed to figure out the the front wheel of my Kat, which was a bit skee-wiff when I put it back on a while ago, is now more of less straight.
Long story short we also figured out that on both the front brakes, one of the brake piston things is stuck/seized. One half works ok, one doesn't so one of the two pads on both sides is pushed all the way out and can't go back in making it almost impossible to get the bloody things back on, let alone allow the wheel to rotate.
So, does anyone know how to un-seize a disc brake piston? Is this something that we could do on Wed or would I have to take it to the shop?
If we can do this on Wed then we could also bleed the brakes with the new braided lines, then hopefully the bike would be all go!
Woo Woo!

when I finished the mods (fuel tank with fuel gauge and replacement guage set - acewell) and payed my acc tax Ill try and make it
I normally give my pistons a good swim in brake clean from repco annaully but I must warn you keep that stuff away from anything rubber.
want you could try And please be careful doing this to much pressure and snap , first spray with brake clean the use shoe spreader and pump the handle bar lever alternativly to see if you can free them that way but if that works I would still strip down and clean.
Reckon you should price rekit quote from the shop peeteey. as you need new pads as well and you don't want leaking brake fliud for the sake of a few dollars for new seals after freeing up piston.
Think you also say that you put a different rim and rotors on with that new tyre. Still could be slighty different from original one on the bike
Righto, will do. The rotors are the same, I swapped them over from the old rim, the new rim is the only difference. I'd forgotten what a joy long overdue maintenance is on old bikes, you undo one nut, which was probably seized, then the whole thing falls apart!
I sometimes think the only thing holding it together is its sheer stubborness!
