Ouch! Me thinks I won't be doing any wheelies, well not intentional ones anyways

Thankfully bike is still standing, might check it again due to the aftershocks, no major damage here but the aftershocks are freaking me out!

Ditto, muchly - even tho on centrestand the RS decided to have a leapfrog encounter with the rear door of the SOs Toymota - cracked fairing, bent mirror mount, scratches - lucky mirror popped as it was supposed to. Door on car isn't pretty either, mount almost poked thru the skin; however so far all other issues better, so can't complain - could be a helluva lot worse.

    Take care all...

Hey kids, I'm so glad to read so many people have come away (relatively) unscathed!
We've all been very very lucky considering ...
Because the schools are closed as is the CSM, I'm effectively unemployed for the next while so if anyone needs any help with anything, lemme know as I'm going to have lots of spare time!

Would be in for something (fixed the busted mirror from Sat AM and the %*%# flakey ignition switch) but
    (a) where to meet
    (b) where to go (without being a nuisance)
    (c) when to head back (don't want to into strife on damaged roads in the dark!!)

I'm keen for a wee run also. I had a business trip to Stockton on Wednesday cancelled today because the factory has not started up after the shake and they think it will be a good idea if the engineer hangs around for the start up after an earthquake.

The roads are mostly fine out my way, but Godley house is buggered.

    Heard its pretty buggered.
Sad but think quake is a good thing in some ways , alot of new buildings and better houses that would otherwise never happen

old taitapu road now has an interesting set of bumps, ridges and fallen-away bits, and still sports a rather duck-friendly aquatic section near the winery. it's a bit like an obstacle course!

where should we meet up tomorrow and what time? is BurgerKing car park open (forgot to check today)?

    sunset is 18:10
    I can haz twisties!
