Does anyone out there have any information about a bike raced in NZ in the early 1980s with a Hossack front end?
If you haven’t heard of Norman Hossack, he invented the front suspension design used on the Britten V1000, and more recently (as the “Duolever”) on the BMW K1200S. I recently asked him for some info about his design, and in reply he asked me about this mystery bike:
“There is something you could do for me though. Back in the very early 80's my first bike was featured in Superbike. Just after that some enterprising Kiwi built a Hossack from those photos. It was raced and it was known as a Hossack.
This would have been 10 or more years before Britten. I would love to know who did it so I can exchange notes and find out how it went. I think he needs congratulating.”

The Kiwi Hossack might look like "Hossack 1" featured on the site.
