    LVV certification fuel tank mods?

    I am planning on installing (top install) an acewell fuel sender to my fuel tank connect to a acwell fuel gauge. this will invlove making an incession in the tank fitting and sealing and of course the cosmtic bit respray. On researching ive come up to be want seems conflicting information

    any modifaction made to fuel tank need to be certified
    here the conflict
    only time certifaction is requried is when fuel type is changed structional chages have been made to the bike is want I proposed condisered structional.

    only exptemtion emergency vehicles

    ive got an email into an lvv cert'

    I think you are making things hard for yourself. Talk to your bike shop and ask them if they will WOF the proposed mods. If they will - problem solved.

    It's easy to be too honest and make things much harder than they are.
