Hey all. I have recently just obtained a mint condition K7 GSXR600 and the temp gauge is in degrees Farenheit. I would like to change this to degrees Celcius.
Does ANYONE have any idea how to do this please?
I have looked THOROUGHLY through the owners manual, asked several bike shops so far.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hey mate, have you thought about just replacing the gauge altogether with an aftermarket one, not too sure if you can do this with bikes but perhaps even a car temp gauge? autometer make a good one (although sender may be a bit of a problem )

You can't change your existing temp reading. Your bike will be a US spec (E03) example.
Only way around it is to get a guage cluster from an Aussie (E24) or Euro (E19) spec bike.
OR... from a UK (E02) spec bike, then you will also still have the option of km/h or mph reading on the speedo

The part number for the guage cluster you want is:
34120-01H30
That's for the Canadian spec(E28) bike... speedo in km/h, temp in degrees Celcius, and no immobilser light. Canadian and US bikes don't have the built in immobiliser like other markets have.

Thanks Pussy. You say mine is a US spec. It is NZ New. Thought if it was import it might be US. If I can't change it I can't change it. End of story. I have the option of changing the speed etc to km/h or mph etc.
Are all NZ New k7 US spec? Or why do you think mine specifically is mate?

Most "NZ" new Suzukis are E24 (Aussie spec) bikes.
SNZ do, however, get in US, Canadian and European spec bikes. They are still brand new and in a crate when they get here... they were just meant for other world markets

Not sure about the K7 GSXR's,
BUT I know that some of the "Summer Fest" bikes Suzuki NZ bought in were bikes that were destined for a market, but got sent to NZ when they didn't sell.
For instance half of the RF900's are Canadian spec, and half not...
Some of the 1997 GSX600F's are either Californian spec, or Canadian Spec....
So... Could be that....
No such thing as a bike designed for the NZ Market really.
We just get a model that is close... or available.

So mine will be a US spec you reckon? Is there anyway I can tell which model it is? Just trying to figure if the specs will be any different or if its less power etc than say the jap spec model? I know these are really newbie questions but hey, you don't ask, you don't know.

Yep... I'd lay money yours is US spec.
The only major difference (apart from the temp guage!) is that your bike doesn't have the SAIS, which is the built in immobiliser.
My E24 spec sem fiddy has a transponder in the key which "talks" to the ECU... don't have the correct key.. bike won't start!

So yours will be an OZ spec one. All good. Yeah I know all about engine immobiliser keys and ignitions mate. I work at a very reputable car sales yard in Dunedin. Alot of late model cars and some early model cars have immobiliser keys etc. Really appreciate all the help on all my newbie questions.

My K7 has a transponder in the key...but it has the temp in fahrenheit. Should this mean that it also has the SAIS? What do you reckon? I will go home and look into whether it is US spec or not (any sure way to find out? the manual came separately from the bike)
Can't change the temp gauge either but I don't see why it matters?

The keys look the same... but if your bike is US spec (highly likely), it won't have SAIS or a transponder in the key.
If the VIN # starts with "JS1GN7DA..." it's a US spec bike, if it starts with "JS1CE121....", it's Aussie spec
