Kapiti Weekend Rides

Hey Toaster - not going to make the ride tomorrow so most probably won't be able to catch up with you before you move to Auckland.

Had a bit of an incident on the way home tonight. Suffice to say bike in a very poor state and various bits of me hurt like a bastard. But hey, I'm in one piece so it's all good.

Would just like to say that you have been great on all the wellington rides. Top bloke who will be missed from the welly area.

Oh Ben - was hoping like hell that that guy was O.K. Thank god you have walked away from it. I'll call you tomorrow and come visit. Don't worry about your bike - you are ok and that is the only thing that matters. Let insurance deal with the rest. Have a good sleep, sounds like you need it. Hope you're girlie is playing nurse for you

Posted details up in different thread. Suffice to say that I am fine, if a little bruised (both body and ego).

I feel like I've earned a badge or something now (but maybe that's the wine and codeine talking).

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the ride tomorrow - I'm very envious right now and make sure that you give toaster a decent send off.

So what is the weather like up the coast?
Here in the Nui it is raining and has been raining most of the night.
Looking at the rain radar at 7am rain is fairly widespread at the moment. The blue bits indicate moderate rain.
Are we doing it?

It is raining steady in most areas we are leaving from and riding to so officially the ride is cancelled.

However I do know Quasi will ride regardless today so feel free to go ahead.

I will look to wait for the weather to improve and will ride then.

Weather update. Raining on and of in Pram, more on than off, raining in Levin, showers at Manfield.

Come on weather - don't you know that it's Saturday and we all want to go for a ride?? Poo to you.

If it clears up this avo I will go for a blat over the takas maybe for some garlic bread at the white swan

- Will have to just play the waiting game today I guess wont we?

Being soft and all, I am going to sit this one out (probably in front of my fireplace).
Wouldn't have minded the odd shower but riding in rain for extended periods is not my idea of fun.
Maybe next weekend although the long range forecast shows a chance of rain for the next ten days.

Ben, I was wondering who was holding up the traffic mate! Sorry to hear of the incident and hope you and the bike recover quickly. It looks like the rain delayed ride plans given several riders were starting early to meet here. Will try another ride later and will also do a catch up with you before I go mate.
