Good to see so many out and about, back on the coast for the chores, hope you all have a good afternoon. Here's a couple of pics including the first ever of mine 'over the hill'
eeeeemmmm sooooo jeoulous!!!!!!
Good to catch up Paul ;-)
Yeah - I went a bit longer than I was going to but got home in time to pick up the gear for tomorrows little project so all good.
I left the bunch at featherston and headed to martytown for an early lunch. Chatted to a very nice couple riding a very very nice old Z ... had lunch and got yapping when Mr and Mrs Hitcher rocked up... Yapped some more then ambled home in a dignified manner to the top of the Paekakareki hill where there was a huge number of hang gliders n shit and two old school triumph choppers - naturally got yapping again...
What a nice day out...
One thing struck me... Coming down the hill (takas) on the featherston side I ended up in front of the main bunch, what, 20 + bikes behind a pretty long line of cars held up by Mr or Mrs cautious... I thought, well whats the point of illeagally passing all those bloody cars 1 at a time 'cos once I get past the last one I will be at featherston. (a 1970 Triumph 650 does not quite have the squirt a GSXR does).. Bugger me if everyone behind didn't form up in a group and amble along happily behind... (I didn't realise you were ALL there for a bit).... WELL done, admirable restraint shown as imagine the mess all those bikes would have made weaving past all those cars... Take a bow you lot...
Desides - too nice a day to waste in outpatients.... or explaining things to Mr Plod as some poor sod was doing on the way back.
So all in all an agreeable day invested in mucking about on a old bike - is there anything finer in the world...
(ps - for a KAPITI ride where 5 of us left Kapiti this am there we attracted a hell of a big fan club!
Had a great ride today, unfortunately had an issue with the throttle on Kahutara Road, Big thanks to the two Harley riders(Malcolm and Steve?) who stopped and turned around to help me out, with a bit of good old Kiwi ingenuity we got it going again.
Now I have learnt even though my bike is less than a year old, it still can break down and I should carry more tools than just a cellphone.
Thanks again Malcolm for following me and making sure I got the bike home okay.
I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people...I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem sort itself out.
