Went over the Paekark and that was pretty wet in parts. Some clown had spilt diesel all over the north bound side so came back up SH1. Wet roads, tar snakes and rubble, plus diesel.... nah!

Wished you'd stayed at home with a cuppa?

Hell no! Saw my mate on his S1000RR's maiden voyage on the way back... he crawled back home without going over the Hill because he got a few raindrops on his visor... being able to call him a pussy made it all worthwhile

Stunning bikes. I'm envious of your mate, but the bike would probably end up in bit in my hands!

They just do what you're right hand tells them to do so you'd be fine.

On the other hand... when we were coming back from Castlepoint I was in second and third gear most of the time... and if I got into it and gave it it's head in second, which is when the world begins to blur around the periphery of your vision (which is fkn lovely), the speeds are just so bizarre so quickly that you wonder WTF you're doing. Making the national papers and walking for a month... the end. The S1000RR is the same but the hit is even higher in the rev range.. the ZX10 even higher still... it's nutty.

The Speedie or a Tuono VR4 is probably where I'll end up. The hit of acceleration but with the windblast to keep things in check.

You should have a borrow of mine sometime. Fantastic pull all the way from 4000 rpms. Not the same nutty power as the supersports but for road use, all you need and more.

G'day Chris - glad to hear you're thinking of the Aprilia - great choice. Incidentally the weather here in Central Qld is mid 20's and hasnt really rained for a month....
