    Hyo front ends?

Has anyone upgraded their GT250R Front ends?

I am wondering if the 650 front end's are much different, looking at stronger springs and better oil for starters.

    Cheers

There's no point fitting the 650 forks to the 250 bike. I'd be looking at having it sprung for your weight and cartridge emulators fitted. Do both jobs at the same time.

Both of these models are different but they are both undersprung and seriously underdamped. Changing to a different oil will only have a limited effect, the problem with the damping is internal.
Ive had 650 forks apart and they are cartridge type, we fitted new rebound pistons and compression pistons that actually work properly, allied with suitable linear wind springs.
We havent done a 250 but I imagine they have damper rod forks, in which case they would need Race Tech emulators ( stay away from the shoddy Asian ripoffs and their quality issues ) and linear wind springs.

    Hi Robert

Any Idea on a cost for that upgrade? Due to keeping the Hyobag as a commuter I would be interested in getting the front suspension perfect. Even a guestamation would be appreciated.

    Cheers

No, what will actually happen is members will post alternatives and costs, like what should happen on any forum, and then others will comment on the pro's and con's of that, and then the OP with all of his options considered, will make an informed decision of his OWN.

Seriously, emulators are cheap for what they are anyway, so why quibble?

Since it is on topic, perhaps someone who knows can post the sources and costs for these other emulators?
