Good one SC. You WERE missed by the way........Next week?????????

A good ride had by 9 or 10 bikes. One of course had three wheels and a very enthuiastic k9, Ted looked to be enjoying himself immensly. I hope everyone else enjoyed themselves as much. My thanks to Carl/Karl (sorry) for leading and all the others who made it such an enjoyable ride.

    Next week .............. Akaroa?????????????????
And remember ...... if it hasn't got one of "Uncle Flip's" prosthetic kickers it isn't a real motorbike!!!

Yep - very much enjoyed, only the one sphincter-clencher on the grit drifts (why is that grade of "metal" so rounded? would have thought the more angular "normal" coarser metal would be better!)... Has taken a bit of time to warm back up tho, the shadows certainly do keep the temp down!

Oh - for those who were interested in the ACC discussion, have a look at

    http://www.psychotherapy.org.nz/index.php?page=blog

for the comments on the Sexual Abuse claims stuff... interesting, if not sad at the same time. Seems like even more of NZ life, the laws might be there but mean nothing unless you've got the deep pockets to take it right thru the courts and WIN a "test case", usually an individual against an established & entrenched (semi-)(corporate) qango.

So Gareth what was it you said about MaxF's "Funky ass curves"? - God, now I'm worried...

Ted and I also had a great ride.

About half way through the trip Ted got right into the chair and I was able to pick up the speed. I only had one loose moment coming up to dyers pass crossing when I realised I had a little too much speed and I only had 30's technology brakes on 2 of my 3 wheels.

was a great ride even though conditions were as to be expected for winter riding - everyone seemed happy to go at their own pace and give following riders room to overtake if they wanted to do so. I'm happy to keep following riders that might be going a bit 'slower' (for want of a better word...safer could be used as well) than i would usually go - it is a group ride after all
We all had our hearts in our throats at the top of Dyers Pass Phil - very worried for Ted and the sidecar..
interesting things happen above 10,000 rpm.....not if you have a ZRX tho

Goddamn it... sound like fun was had by all! I tried to wriggle out of an afternoon engagement but to no avail, so I went for a morning blat instead whilst the Mrs was in the shower (so that gave me about an hour to play with hahah )

This Saturday is looking good so far, so as long as the weather doesn't bite us I'll hopefully be along for a hoon!

    Cheers

And if dozing its often a beter save, as you tend to be more relaxed than if ya expecting it therfore ya react beter.

On this note re: the gravel we often experance this time of year, when ya see it comming expect movment but know that the feelng of sliding is just the wheels rolling over the shit, let the bike role and on the other side you will gain traction, best I can say is button off the juce till through (sometimes its neeed to juse it up to straighten the bike up but usually only in a big bad situation, "go with the flow" you are in control of the bike not the other way round, don't forget that.

Right that bit of info will cost you all a beer...
    cheers DD

As an engineer are you able to set up brakes on the sidechair??????? Setup properly with the rear brakes on the bike it should pull fairly straight.???????

There is not a 3rd wheel brake on my chair. I am thinking about making one after I faid a brake backing plate that is about the right size.

Must admit when I saw you go through the stop sign at the Kiwi on Saturday I was wondering what was up. I nearly had laundry problems just watching.

    How was your laundry afterwards?????????

I would imagine the chair tends to pull you out of shape when braking???? Will be interested to see how the chair-brake turns out. Might have to stay off the Summit Road etc when you have the BMer, either that or I will have to back off further. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ................................................

in the original model i reckon the sidecar passenger just fired the machine gun to slow down, that's why they didn't need uber brakes. or, if they were paratroopers... they just bailed out!
