Fork springs retail advice

hey, can you advise good place to buy fork springs-aftermarket- for gsx 750 esg 1987.Not top price for thousands, but average price few hundred maybe, half decent perfermance.Dont want to do major overhaul, just slip in a set of springs , so i can lean over again and get that special feeling only a corner will give .Been a while since i have seen that even tyre wear across all of the tyre.I live auckland area.

Sonic Springs. Google it.
They're in Mrka, but they ship to EnZed, and their customer service is good, price also, and shipping is reasonable.
Just be careful with their spring calculator - it tends to be just a tad too sporty for NZ roads. F'rinstance: it said I needed 0.95kg/mm springs, whereas the 0.90's were better for our goat-track roads.
From memory, I think they were less than NZ$200 at my door, and it took less than a week.

We have most fork spring options in stock, most of the time. Vifferman is right in that you should not implicitly trust the Sonic spring rate calculator, or indeed any other spring rate calculator as they dont take all of the determining factors into account and are also certainly not mindful of our high ratio of bumpy roads.

What Vifferman also did not tell you is that Sonic got it wrong for him and he ended up getting some 9s, Although I was in no way obliged to do so I traded his 0.95 sonic springs. That ''saved his life'' as he would in normal circumstances have had to buy another set.

We can come close to the overseas price ( that is helped somewhat by the exchange rate ) BUT we also offer something that no-one else does, if you are subsequently not quite happy with the chosen spring rate we exchange at no further cost excepting local courier recovery costs. Also, youd be supporting the local industry and kiwi jobs, rather than faceless overseas parasites.

Know a guy who threw in a set of progressive front springs into his old GSXR a while back. He was happy, but as he stated the stock ones were so stuffed anything would have appeared better ......... I'd talk to Robert first.

True, true.

What Robert didn't mention is that the useless springs he so generously took off my hands were immediately utilised in another bike, and that he charged me for the swap. But that's OK - he's in business to make a living, and he was under no obligation to help me out, so I'm not whingeing. The forks are now incredibly smooth in their action, and sprung just right.

I do wish I'd just gone to CKT in the first place, as it would've saved me money and not a little frustration.
