I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome & am having surgery this week.I will try very hard to persuade my surgeon to do the procedure bilaterally -
Has anyone got first hand experience of recovery and how long before I might be riding again?
i had both hands done at the same time, was back at work in 6 weeks, riding again in about 3 but everyone is different
I had them both done also, Back to work in 6 weeks but another week would have been better just because my work involved pushing a lever quite hard with the palm of the hand. Got back on the FireBlade at the same time but very near came to grief running off the road because I couldn't support the weight under hard braking, I am 120 kg tho

General anaesthetic, Can look after yourself fine, May need a friend to help you in the shower tho so you can keep your hands dry, Lift or carry nothing for a few weeks, use two hands to drink and get someone else to carry your dinner plate if you can, toilet duties are ok, just take your time.
If it hurts at all then your over doing it, take it really easy for a couple of weeks and you will heal so much better.
I had keyhole surgery by the way.

Good luck with the surgery. I'm sorting out getting mine done soon (my problem is in my elbow not the wrist), probably looking to get it done after the Brass.
Let us know if you are going a bit stir crazy, you can take me up on that offer of a boot in the car.
Can't offer any advice or help, but good luck. Hope it all goes well for you.

See if you can have your surgery in the winter - makes it better for not riding if the weather is crap!!
I had my thumb fused, I couldn't ride for 6 weeks, and upgraded the bike for a more modern one with a really easy clutch.
And here is me thinking you'll roster a couple of nurses to look after you..... and then good old Roger offers his services......what a good kb mate you have.
Good luck H., I don't envy you but with a bit of luck you'll be showing us your scars at your mid-year pissup!
