Still in two minds how to get to the rally. Not going by the main road if I can help it:

Diamond harbor: Lincoln: Leeston: Rakaia: Thompson's Track: Geraldine: Dog Kennel corner. Then a choice Hakataramea Pass to Kurow or the main Rd (No8) through the MacKenzie country to Kurow.
Day 2 is just see how I feel about Danseys.
Ya thats the plan for me and couple of others, fingers crossed, but tarseal all the way to kurow.
Takes a few days to come right , sounds like virus really knocked ya for six.

Yes this has been a really shitty time to get sick. I had glandular fever many years ago and when I get run down I don't recover well. Going to the Doc tomorrow to get some antibiotics because I am simply not getting well. I did a brass a few decades ago sick and spent most of the rally in my sleeping bag.
If I am still really sick on Friday going Saturday I might just load the bike onto the ute and go some of the way down in the vehicle. I know its a piker way of doing the brass.

Sometimes you wish it was easier, but if it was, everyone else would do it, then you remember you don't want to be like everybody else!

    Hey all,

Heard on the radio today that over the weekend, the police will be ticketing anyone they clock doing +104kmh. No excuses accepted.

In that case it makes sense to make it worth while and make a runner.
I'll be likely doing 104km at 100. meh

    Hi all.
Dunstan Trail will be open as long as the weather stays the same. We received inaccurate information that it was closed earlier in the week.

    Shite thats a bit rough.
See they're eased up on the 5km tolerance on trucks abit , it was getting stupid, specially on passing lanes trying to get past slow coach's.

Sounds like I will finally be on the right bike this weekend.

I put off leaving today, I am still under the weather but are just starting to feel better. We have just shut down the factory at work because this cold has sent everybody home sick, only one person turned up at work today.

I thought there was a 10% tolerance to allow for speedo inaccuracies so they can ticket you for 110 in a 100 area, or 55 in a 50 area etc.
