I work in the motor trade and it amazes me how a car's engine is rebuilt and the owner MUST take it on a trip to the North Island even before it is actually ready to go...i.e before it has been properly tested by the tech that did the work. And what pisses me off even more is the Service Manager lets them go!!!! Invariably there is a 'teething problem' on their first leg of their journey and their trip is ruined. If only they had given us time to test it we would have found the problem and sorted it. So PLEEEEEEEASE have the service done with plenty of time to spare!!! Rant over. Thank you.
i have to say on this munter you are spose to be professionals at your trade & people pay good $$ for the service,

how ever, I can agree on the engine rebuild bit

will sort pic's out & post up later

    FFS!
I expect consistent reliable service when I get work done on my bikes, why should it be my job to check for unacceptable mistakes?
Testing/checking should be part of the service, end of story

Believe this is the expectation timg and a lot of the rest of us have....

I'm with you on this Hot . I do all my own servicing . double check my work , test ride, then recheck bolts etc, don't get many second chances on bikes...... That is shit TIMG, shop concerned should rectify problems and refund the service charge. Remember couple years ago a nelson helicopter mechanic was taken to court and convicted for failing to recheck and sign off his work. the said helicopter lost a rotor blade i think, about 2hours after its service while pilot and shooter were deer hunting, both were killed. .......loose bolts.

    Done once ,done right.

Well got back to chch , still dry under my one piece rain suit , pretty miserable towards the end, just hanging out for a hot shower

Awesome brass monkey for me , left a day late, but great ride down on saturday, a wave from a cop, couple hot pies , some nice snow pics, then a final blast into ranfurly.

snow, icing on the cake!! pitched the tent under a clear sky and sun shining. then off for a great night , chatting ,fire watching and star gazing......

pretty crook this morning so a slow start, few riders arsed off leaving the site, but I had no probs, with usual helping hand from others to get me rolling, cheers guys.

Some good bikes there to ,sure more pics to come, stretched quad with a bath tub, chainsaw powered mtb and the indian themed dirt bike come to mind.
next year? maybe.....but hopefully on a adv bike by then

One of those will be ... no doubt ... of a certain FJ1200 pilot (who hopefully will remain nameless ), who found after inserting key in ignition (Sunday morning) and turning it on ... found NO response ...
After tracking down the fella doing the jumpstarts ... with same result ...watch jumpstart fella drive off to help those he COULD ...

A moment of brain clarity .... ... remembered ... that FJ1200's cannot be started in gear ... with the sidestand DOWN ....

Fabulous day riding across Maniototo on Friday, until after pitching my tent and leaving for Alexandra, riding through Hoare Fog all the way in the dark. Not a good experience!
