Carb and starter problem '85 GPZ600r

Number one carb has been flooding and then clearing up after riding for a while but recently became worse. Took ages to start yesterday, went for a ride, stopped then wouldn't start at all. turned over fine till starter motor stopped working. Still plenty of charge in battery so I think I may have fried the starter motor? Gave it a few whacks but no joy. Managed to push start it and get it home. Am told the carb problem is most likely an easy fix ( replace the float valves and gaskets ). Have neither the patience, tools of expertise to do any of the work, can anyone recommend where in the Waikato to take it and what I can expect to get charged? Alternatively, I'm happy to let a fellow Kiwibiker have a crack at it and make it worth their while. Any sensible advice and ideas appreciated.
