Would I deliberately fart at people i'm in the same room with? probably not

Seems like a sensible sort of logic to carry over to smoking to me! (that and the fact that it would've killed me in short order with my asthma).
The loss of money is just a side issue.

It's only a stress thing for me. Calms me down internaly so I can relax and think through problems without getting overly frustrated. My bike does this most of the time but when it's not running... Will be quiting again now though.

I read the book by Allen Carr called "The easyway to stop smoking" It works ok as long as you want to give up.
I am favourably impressed by the poll figures, it shows that KB members who respond to polls about smoking are a very large majority.
Reality is an illusion encouraged by consensus.

    Yes I smoke.

    So what.

    Also drink, ZOMG.

Used to do copious amount of illicit drugs too.

The point of this thread is?

And for the record I've never tried giving up, or thought about it, nor do I intend to.

    Each to their own.

Dont see the piont of cigarettes but i dont have a problem with people who smoke. I suppose smoking is just another way people express themselves but who cares Its just another way for me and my mates to make extra money at school. Sellin ciggys to 14yr old 'homies' and 'gangsters' for a buck each at school!

Sorry - Was the question "do you smoke?". I though it was "do you stroke?".

    Please ignore my vote.

If you're going to smoke, cigars or a pipe are way cooler than cigarettes.
Not that I can afford cigars in my straightened cricumstances, but I do enjoy a puff on my pipe from time to time...
I've never really seen the point of cigarettes.

Tried it as a kid, took a drag hurt like hell as it went down and thought that dosen't feel good I won't do that again!!!!!! Was not one to do things just besause others did. It also killed my DAD at 61. Alive and fine in the July dead in the September. I can give you all the lovely details of what it did to him if it will help anyone stop!!!

Never understood how someone lets themselves get controlled by a dried up plant in some paper! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Sorry just really hate the habit.

that's my rant. I had better go before I really get into it.

    Take care all

I find that most *non-bikers* have a number of wrong assumptions in their own minds about us 'roughians that ride motorcycles'.

Btw, no I'm not addicted to cigarettes, I.e. smoke.

I only manage to afford 1 real cigar a year.

As for the pipe. Tried it and like it, but think I'll save that for my "dirty old man" years.

You are dead right - you have to want to stop. I went from 200/week to nothing about 18 years ago - cold turkey, no patches, lollies or other crutches other than the desire to stop suffering chronic bronchitis for 3 months every year.
