Great guy, brilliant rider, what a shame for him to be forced out of his game due to physicall issue's

From the not quite unexpected news department comes the sad news that former World Superbike champion and popular US Superbike series rider Neil Hodgson has decided to retire after his big crash earlier this month at Brands.

Hodgson originally injured the shoulder in 2009 while motocrossing in Southern California. During the off-season he rehabilitated it enough to ride Superbike in the UK in 2010, but crashed on the previously injured shoulder at Brands.

Honestly, the video of him walking away from the crash, huddled and holding his arm in obvious pain, had an end of an era feel to it.

Hodgson will be remembered as a gregarious everyman rider, winning the world title but never forgetting his blue collar roots. He was blown out of WSBK racing and many thought his career over but he scratched his way back and won the world title.

Shame for anyone to go out injured, but so many do.
I was just reading a book yesterday, where Foggy mentioned that he didn't rate him !
But then, Foggy probably didn't rate anyone but himself, did he ? G.

Nice one Shaun. Have met Neil on a couple of occasions a great guy........ proper bloke eh.
Never one to moan about set up/conditions/bike .........AKA FOGGY........... would always tell it how it was and own up if it was his fault.........great to watch too.
Will be missed by his absense.
