Cagiva raptor 650 as a possible pro-twin?

Just saw one of these today, has a suzuki sv650 motor but has up-side down forks and other goodies the sv lacks, could make a good pro-twin?, has wheels that will fit good tires, and double front disks. Looks cool

Not sure about the raptor...........think there might be homologation rules with regards to numbers sold (could be wrong) but wont be many of those sold to the public in NZ.
Its not big dollars to set up a pro-twin.............. but it aint cheap racin either.............but motorcycle racin aint cheap (that will never change)
But its like any other hobby that you are passionate enough about...........if you want it bad enough you will find a way (legal or not)!!!!!!

na they should fit in the rules, they are sold new here and would of sold at least 50 unit {i think it says that} Would be interesting to see one on the track.

It would be good to have one or two out there, but they really are just sv's in mascara. I also beleive they are a bit heavier, off the top of my head, but i could be spurting bullshit.

Woody--I looked into exactly what you are talking about for a F3 bike. Potentially they are better than an SV The challenge is that all the brackets N stuff were bloody expensive and of course "race" aftermarket stuff isn't available. I think there may be homologation issues for a PT. Keep in mind too that like the SV there are two engines t-the older 63 hp and the newer injected 73-75hp

yea, if you had the money i guess you could make one into a weapon of a F3 or Pro-twin bike, but if you start kicking ass you'd want to make sure they are legal in every rule.

You don't have to spend a huge amount to build a competitive ProTwin bike, I have seen fast times put in by riders on bikes that would sell for 5 or 6 K. admittedly if you buy everything new (bike, exhaust system, shock, emulators, dampener, power commander, crash knobs etc) you could spend 26K, but you get a bike that you won't need to spend any serious money on for years, assuming you don't break it.
