    Gsf250 mods

    Hi.

i ride a gsf250 bandit 97. Would it be able to cope with going up a tooth on the front sprocket?
I recently fitted a screen, and this helps keep alot of wind away.
When riding im not to fussed about acceleration, but i spend alot of time sitting at 100 and it would be nice to drop the revs abit, how much would going up a tooth change the revs?

    Thanks for your help

I'm sure it'll handle one up on the front. As to how many rev's it will drop I don't know sorry.

Yes it will handle a tooth on the front. Drops the revs approx 1000 rpm.

It will definitely cope with it, a friend did exactly that to his before a ride from Chch to the North island and he said it made a world of difference.

Very sensible mod by the sound of it.

I'm doing this next time i replace the sprockets & chain.. Where are you getting yours from?

And not to hijack the thread but what's the screen? Looks like i'm living with my bike for another ~12 months so may aswell tart 'er up a bit for comfort/when it comes to selling time.

Is there much cost involved in changing a sprocket? I wouldn't mind having it done as well.

Assuming they fitted the right one (workshop and shop seemed a bit divided yesterday) Cycletreads fitted new sprockets and chain yesterday for $225. Not half bad!
