    I hate wireless networks

I've been fucking around for an hour trying to sort out this wireless network. And I'm still no closer than I was before. I'd rather spend some time in the attic with a drill and a long cable doing it properly for once than fuck around all night long on the piss trying to sort out this wireless shit.

Ha! I spent 1 1/2 hours today trying to get my son's PS3 online through wireless. Eventually phoned a tech and found I'd been using the wrong password for the WAP2. But hey - got it done.

I'm sure we can help - just ask.

I laid new cable to replace the phone cable. One cable - 8 strands - 4 for Network - 3 for phone - no more crackles on line

Love wireless networks. My WRT54GL (running Tomato) using a Draytek Vigor120 to bridge PPPoE/PPPoA is fantastic.

    Honest, it's really fun

Some general tips, if this is for home use, and assuming you have at least Windows XP SP2:
    * Use WPA-PSK. WPA2-PSK is better, but your wireless card needs special hardware support for this. So if you don't know, use the safer option of WPA-PSK.
    * The SSID is case sensitive (SSID is the wireless network name).
    * Some wireless equipment can't handle spaces or punctuation symbols in the SSID. So use a simple word.

Could you post a screenshot of the error, give give a bit more detail? What did you do immediately before hand that made the 619 error pop up, and how does your machine connect to the Internet?

619 can occur with Vodafone when your sim gets locked. Give them a quick call to make sure nothing is wrong with your account. If a pre-pay, make sure it has credit left on it.

It can also occassioanlly occur when the coverage is weak. But I'll assume you are using it where you normally do.

After checking with Vodafone, give your machine a reboot. Failing that, get a newer version of Mobile Connect.

Try taking the sim out and putting it back in (re-seating it). 619 errors are often to do with connecting to the network (aka, Vodafone blocking you in some way). Perhaps the sim is failing to initialise in some way.

Failing that try re-installing the latest Vodafone Mobile Connect client:
