It's fucking awesome! I haven't bought an album of "new" music in about 12 years. Until today. If you like real rock 'n roll, this is a must hear.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
Who the fuck is Slash? Sounds like the name of a serial killer.
I'll take your word for it and give it a listen at some stage, but I got a negative vibe when Slash was described as "one of the most influential guitarists...." blah, blah, blah. Whatever.
He has moments of brilliance but 'influential'? I don't think so.
However, if it's as good as you say I'll give it a whirl.
He influenced a terrible generation of noodlers who need haircuts and t-shirts that don't have band logos on them.
P.S. Hans, if your idea of 'real' rock 'n' roll is a ridiculously commercial group that can't write a non-cliched song to save themselves, well... I guess KB is the right place for ya.
is oooooooooooooooooooook. thats all it gets from me
Got it the day it was released in NZ and have been playing it in the car, on the computer and on the home stereo since..... It's a pearler, best new stuff I've enjoyed for quite some time. No two songs sound alike thanks mostly to the variety of different artists that colaborated with him on all the songs both writing, singing and playing. It's awesome, and I love it!!!![]()
Yep. It's the way he wrote the songs to suit the individual singers. The songs very obviously reference the sound of the band they sing in and then build on that style. A good example would be the riff on Crucify the Dead, which is almost identical to Paranoid. I couldn't give a shit if some people think it's "not progressive" or "alternative/intellectual" enough. I like it exactly because it sounds like the 70s 80s and 90s.

I'm going to win it on Hauraki.
Redefining slow since 2006...
My thoughts.
Its well recorded.
Very middle of the road
Demonstrates how a number of has-beens could have extended their golden years if they had the material and people (The singer out of the cult is a prime example)
Uneven as all these "Guest-star" albums are.
Doubt I'll listen to it again, I suggest Slash just joins Wolfmother.
ter·ra in·cog·ni·taAchievement is not always success while reputed failure often is. It is honest endeavor, persistent effort to do the best possible under any and all circumstances.

Before they released it officially it was being streamed for free on the internets. I let it run for a day, and have not bought it. The musicianship is certainly above average. and it has a bunch of GnR guys and theres a Dave Grohl track. I thought I would hate that song that Fergie sings on, yet its not too bad. I am a Black Sabbath fan, but the Ozzy track is awful. Poor Oz is a spent force, sadly. The last listenable thing he did was his under cover record in 2005. (my opinion). The rest of it is just meh. They did put the best song up front, the one Astbury sings on. It sounds like an out take from Electric (by far the best Cult album IMO)
If you like this CD and you havent already got it, check out "Probot" from a few years back: Dave Grohl's tribute to the metal he grew up listening to, with the original people. Its REALLY good.
Keep an eye on this site: they will often stream interesting CD's in full prior to release.

I thought elections were decided by angry posts on social media. - F5 Dave
