    False choppers. Who has em?

Sick of tooth ache and dentists ive decided bugger this and started the ball rolling to rid myself of the bloody things, they where never any good anyway.Dentist tried to talk me out of it to ensure future mortgage payments i guess but nope i am done with the things, fairly hefty bill will follow but compared to the rest of my life paying dentists and the toothache that comes before them i figure its a sweet deal.So how hard is it getting used to these things, approx time before you can eat solid food etc.Have already discovered its way better to deal with a denture tech to make your dentures rather than get the dentist to get it done then charge you an extra $400 for simply putting them in your gob.

Just been recently myself for a check up.... $300 later for a check up, xray and clean and a small cap and they wanted another $400 if I went back for a drilling or three.

I should have done dentistry at Otago and not commerce.

    Rip off.

Paid $200 today just to sit down and have a few X-rays,as you say a total rip-off.Though i am happy to pay it i wonder how much it actually costs to produce a set of denturers compared to what you end up paying, anyways no matter i just want the things done.Funny really,i had no problem shelling out for a set of overpriced Carrozzeria rims but grumble about this...priorities eh.

I work in a dental surgery and people seem to cope ok with the top teeth being false, as you get a good "suction" action that holds them up, but the lower false teeth just float around on the mouth. Think really hard before you do it, cos once they are gone, they are gone.......

I guess eh,oddly enough the money these teeth are going to cost is exactly what i paid for the rims/chain/sprocket.Annoying really, would rather spend it on more bling bits.

Watchout for the 'Whistle while you Talk' syndrome that comes with false teeth.

On a side note, I had 6 vineers put in a few years ago @ $600 per tooth.
More expensive granted and it took me a while to be able to eat proper food. I couldn't even bite through a banana at first.
The drugs were well worth the time and money.....

I remember half way through the proceedure, I wanted to take a piss so they lead me to the toilet (a single toilet) and I couldn't find my out, I had locked the door and was pretty blaze' about the whole deal so they tell me....
