As Kitty says, once they're gone, you can't ask for them back. Think very hard and talk to people who have falsies, (teeth! you sex mad fiends, you!).
Back in '85 I was given the choice, have 'em out or do 'em up! After discussing it with the dentist, I decided to keep them and $440.00 later I had a reasonable set of teeth.
I still have my own teeth and I won't get rid of them until I have no choice. Your originals are the best and false teeth are like having specs, a hassle every day. Something extra to look after.
All the money I have spent since, I feel has been worth it. My personal opinion of course but every time I talk about it with anyone who has dentures, (that's the word I was looking for...) always wishes they had their own.

They wont let you out unless you have someone to look out for you. No point in being silly about it, the drugs will ensure you are silly enough if encouragedApart from that you are not going to be feeling up to much for a few days afterwards. You will need feeding etc.
Make sure you have someone trustworthy looking after you in the first few hours is VERY important.
Other than that, think carefully about having your teeth out mate. They provide much more than an ability to eat an apple. DO mucho thinking and talk to lotws of people that have taken more expensive but just as rewarding healthwise options.
I hear what your saying ED and believe me its not a decision ive taken lightly, thing is the bloody things have been bad from the get go and all these years $ later ive simply had enough,i was pretty crook for a long time when a kid and have been told that the drugs etc was to blame, ive no idea.Perservered long enough.I firmly believe that dentures may well be a hassle but nothing to what ive endured over the years with what ive got.

Thanks for the good advice Mom.What i wont be doing is getting any one of a few good mates to pick me up,bastards would probably wheel me through the main street or something equally as f%ucked up.(as i would do to them).

Yeah, I guess you know what you've been through and there are very good reasons why someone may choose to have them out.
It may well be the drugs, you can google them if you know what they were, of course. If you post pics we'll promise not to laugh at you, (much...).
Not a decision I'd envy you having to make, and wish you all the best.
I broke the corner of a molar a few weeks ago but as it's not causing any problem and I'm a bit broke, I've been putting off getting it seen to.

LOL,bullshit you wouldnt laugh,i would.Everyone ive seen after getting them in looks like Gomer Pyle until things settle down,am going to point out to my mates that the worst offenders will be noted and when i can talk properly are going to be duly repaid in every possible way and as they know i can do some well evil pranks, hopefully that will limit the paying out ive got coming.

Getting a set of top choppers allowed me to start my own business - you need to be able to smile at a customer without them losing their focus on what you are saying.I can't play the saxophone very well anymore, and with some of my lower teeth gone it's almost impossible....although the neighbours might be thankful.I've crashed many times off road and on the dirt track without embarrassing myself.I've been a bit mercenary with my teeth over the years - if they give trouble I go in and say take that one out, they protest and say they can save it for 4 times the cost of extraction, but I always take the cheaper option.
If you are going to have the teeth out, then have the drugs (the needle). They will be using a drug called Hypnovel (Midazolam) which is great as it alters your sense of time, so you think you have been there 5 minutes, not 2 hours, and you can't remember it either. Also another good thing about the drug is that there is an antidote which they will have on hand just in case.
You will be really out of it and can't be trusted for 6 hours afterwards - no driving or making important decisions.
If you can, try and keep the front teeth on the bottom, then you can have a partial denture on the bottom and it can anchor off these teeth. Not ideal but better than have a full lower denture.
Good luck - you will need itIt is easy for me to say, as I am lucky enough to get free dental treatment as I work in a dental surgery.
