Not that bad mate, reminded me of a mate of mine had this lump thing dug out of his arse cheek, all good though a little tender, was a friday and that evening away off to the pub we went, made up a CD case size bit of paper put some sticky tape on it and managed to slap him on the back whilst having it in my palm,it simply said "kick me im getting married" took him about 10 kicks up the arse from strangers before he caught on,broke the silly buggers stitches as well.

yeh I ahve them top and bottom, the top are ok, bottoms are a bloody nuisanse, wont sit properly at all, and irritate the gums. be prepared to renew dentures after a
few years as yoiur gums shrink with age. all in all, I wish I had looked after my original teeth. mind you I know folks who ahve them and can eat anything.
I hear ya buddy, my teeth are crap too. When I've had money I have to go visit a dentist multiple times a year to get a filling replaced, or deal with another broken tooth. Seriously expensive in the long run. Unless there are huge medical problems having dentures it is definitely the rational economic answer for me to rip the busted crap teeth out and replace them with nice plastic ones. I asked a dentist about this recently and the best he could come up with is "dentures are really uncomfortable". But my mom had dentures from before she was 20 and she lived to nearly 80. And she was born in the 20's, technology wasn't as flash as today. If she could do it, I'm sure I can.
Hellokitty, your advice is great, thanks. I would have just removed the lot but keeping the bottom ones might be easier. Most of my 6 broken teeth are on the top anyway.
My wife and I went to a dentist recently to get quotes for the work to be done. Mainly patch-ups, not fancy crowns etc (other than where deemed necessary) - so, the cheapest treatment options available. And the dentist is known as a reasonably priced dude. Quote: about $7000. Might last 2 years. Bwahahahahahaha! Like that's gonna happen.
I believe it costs $100k for a dentist to get qualified. So even at budget rates above, I reckon they can pay back their study costs in about two months. (If they play lots of golf and take their time about it). OK, maybe they have some premises and technology loan costs, and they have to pay a nurse and a receptionist, and royalties on that fucking irritating music they play all the time, another $100k per year. Hell, make it $200k, that means they're only making out like robbers (just like the rest of the medical fraternity) for half of the year.
Redefining slow since 2006...
Cheers Rainman, you raise a valid point, until the other day when i decided bugger this and went about setting the ball rolling i had no idea that my old mom had false teeth, turns out shes had them for bloody decades and coped well,as she said "with the tech avaliable today compared to what dis-comfort i had with mine you have nothing to fear im sure".

Sokay, I blinged him for ya!
You don't get to be an old dog without learning a few tricks.
Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!
Probably the same drugs in pill form but you have less control with the pills - with the needle you can go deeper faster - with the pills you could be waiting and waiting for them to take effect.
We do a lot of sedations at my work with these drugs - you do whatever makes it easier for you - we had a guy the other night that had all his top teeth out while he was awake - don't know if he was brave or crazy
Rainman - you are right about the huge costs of dentists training, there is also a huge cost in running a surgery with staff and very expensive quipment and supplies.
My boss always says that denture are a good alternative to having no teeth - not a good alternative to your own teeth. From what I have been told, the younger you have your teeth out (like your Mum at 20) the easier it is to cope and learn to eat with dentures. The worse thing is seeing old people in their 80s getting dentures and they can't cope with them.
