    Did not end up buying a trout rod but found one of the kids old rod/reel sets and gave it a clean up and oil & grease. Found an old lure that use to belong to a long dead great uncle of mine, last used about 50years ago! Tied it on and walked 10 metres to my jetty and, bugger me,,,,, look what I caught!!! He put up a great fight jumping well clear of the water a few times before I landed him. Since he was the first I let him go. Bigger ones out there for eating I am sure.

    I broke my rod the other day too. Maybe its a sign that I should by a fly rod!
