    Killer deals on motorcycle gear?

    Hi All

I'm soo close to getting my first Gixxer, I can smell the rubber. But that aside, I really want to get some decent gear without paying a fortune for it. I'm looking around for the right stuff to buy but some advice would be gladly taken.

There are a lot of retail outlets for gear but I'm hoping I can save some $$ by buying online or other such avenues. Anyone know where I could get killer deals?

I'm looking at getting a hybrid jacket, shoei helmet, kevlar jeans with knee guards, gloves and ankle-high riding shoes.

    Thanks
    Donny

Talk to your local dealer about a deal for the lot
Then try cycletreads on barrys point rd

    http://www.lifestyle-imports.co.nz is worth a look
I think is value for money (showroom in mercer) They could probably do you a deal on the lot (dont know about shoei) ring Rick and ask

Some like 1tonne but I havent tried it

Any particular reason you want those specific types of things?
As much as I jump down Quasimoto here, his gear looks real good. And prices look respectable.
Plus the biggest assholes here use the best gear - so his gear must be pretty mint

If you're gonna ride a gixxa in half boots and jeans, you could save heaps by just riding in your undies! Leather, mate, all the gear, all the time. By the way, my new Qmoto gloves are the tits.Matt.

I'll run with that too. If the protection doesn't stay in place during an off, it's no good to you.

I have no idea what RJays stuff is like, but I did come across this combo deal today while looking for some other stuff.

Probably a bit on the cheap side considering you specified quality stuff tho.

    Thanks for the help everyone!!

Shoei - Coz I've tried on, weighed, seen a few. They seem to be quality. Dont want to compromise on head gear ($499 sounds reasonable)
Hybrid jacket - They are more abrasive resistant than textile, more water resistant than leather. And I cant afford two jackets, 'sides the rev'it' hybrid looks real cool
Kevlar jeans with hip and knee guards / Leather ankle shoes - Both of these because I assumed they offer the same degree of preotection and can be worn when I take the bike around town, going out, whatever, etc (where would I change?) Would my jeans really come off in an off lol..?

The above thinking I hope is a perfect marriage of a generous helping of safety and useful convinience. Tell me if this is going to end in tears...

Its a K6/7 Gixxer 600 that I'm looking to get... How that fought off the Ninja, R6 and CBR (the other choices in the same cat) is a different story, an interesting one none-the-less...

Your jeans wont come off, but the legs will come up, jeans may come down a bit and expose your hips (i've heard of this quite a few times now) get the armour which straps to your knee, if you get the stuff that goes into the actual jeans, the jeans will move and the armour will be in the wrong place = you may as well have not had the armour in the first pllace and your knees will be gone.

As for the riding shoes, i'd only wear them to the shop just up the road, they offer no shin protection, so no not the same protection as boots. Broken shin bones = pain. You can get pretty discrete boots, you do'nt need the latest $800 alpinestars racing boot, I wear mine at Uni all day and you would'nt even know. (All black commuter boots fro Uni/expensive boots for weekend rides)

Teach its owner to fix it and it'll break in some way you've never seen before.

So this armour just straps on to the knee from outside the jeans, correct?

How are these to walk in? If I have to waddle around to save my shins then I will, but is it like that.

    Thanks for the insight
