Remapping ECUs for Ducatis

I've just started working for these guys http://www.nzperformancetuning.co.nz and while its not advertised, we can chip bikes. The main brand that is available for remapping at the moment is Ducati. Costs $995 to remap them, I'll try to get some specs on gains.

Theres a kit you can buy, to load different maps in the Magneti Marelli 5AM and previous 59M units
Thinking of gettting one. About that money. Does Ducati and some Aprilia, you can load maps, for different stages of tune . Maybe Guzzi and Moto Morini, although this could be different kit. Not worked that out yet. i`m going to need one some time in the future.This maybe what your selling.

$995 to remap an injection system (at a non authorised shop), that's a fair chunk of change?

What experience does this shop have with Ducati's? Also, what sort of warranty is there if I get remapping work done?

I see that the website says "money back warranty", but that doesn't add up, I mean, what if something is done wrong causing engine failure, do you get the money for that back too?

Do you have a dyno and 4 gas to be able to map it correctly, if so, is that included in the price?

Ductai's are nothing like 2006 VW Polo T.D.I Diesel's!

Last chippable ecu in use was the 16M and thats going back a fair way. I used to rewrite the proms in those but certainly didnt charge $1000. Perhaps I better break out my burner.
I found someone who has a brake dyno and 4 gas ega, who can remap 15M, have the software for 59M and 5AM (waiting for the magic cable to turn up) have installed and tuned Nemisis, remap all Buell, all Harley, all Triumph, some Aprilia, Benelli, Suzuki, KTM, MG, MZ,

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that the OP (since he has just started working for this company) may well be mistaken in what a "chip tune" is.

From the youtube video the link he posted took me to, I saw a piggy back system that they fitted to the vehicle, perhaps that's where the $995 comes in (for the piggy back system), opposed to "chipping" the ECU.

Still, no matter which way they alter the fueling, no ability to dyno and measure the AF ratio will be $995 wasted.

Seems a fair whack of $ to me also,ive had an old Yoshimura ECU adjuster for years that didnt cost me 1/2 that.Somewhat primitive to whats around these days but still works and simple to use.

Thats still a lot of money.

Then just add usbserial cable and you are in business. Not so say this will work on a Ducati, but to illustrate what is being done elsewhere.

Yip, and then while dyno time is not shockingly expensive, one has to be organised to make good use of it, or else wooops theres a four-figure dyno bill.
