    As for the tag, I've been trying to get out there for a couple of days with a young feller whose just started riding. But his bike has been bung. Managed ton get it running but it won't idle. Can ride it, just gotta keep the revs up when you come to a stop.

    So was going to finally go get this tag today... Now it's raining.

    Sounds like a dirty carb, have you checked the idle jet/jets? If it idles ok with the choke on this is a pretty good bet.

    Had the carb off and cleaned it as best I could, it's possible there's still something in there blocking it, but any further cleaning jets is beyond my knowledge.

    Thanks for the advice, I might give it a go, makes me sound like an ass, but there's a limit to how deeply I'm willing to go on some one else's bike.

    If I bugger something up I don't like to be held responsible.
