Well I've never seen an animal skinned alive in NZ, as general practice ? left in the meat bin still moving and struggling with it's skin gone. Sick bastards

I agree how ever there is still a lot cruelty in NZ and everywhere to animals, as we seem intent to feasting on their flesh at a rate that demands intensified farming methods, while we also demand cheaper meat and seem unwilling to pay the premium for meat that has come from humane sources

It's because we're providing food for the rest of the world... christ I saw an Ad on TV the other day for Lamb...I'm sure it said something along the lines of, NZ's premium Lamb, now available in NZ... WTF??? My Grandad loved his Balantines, but you couldn't buy it in the UK unless you went through duty free... it took me 15 minutes to drive to the distillery and I still couldn't get any... Still, I think he enjoyed the treat...

Coming from a family which owned an abattoir, and being an ardent carnivore - all I can say is that killing livestock and putting them through unnecessary torment are two totally different things.

There are ways and means of doing things that are morally correct and there are ways and means of doing things that are efficient. The two are not always the same. Time and time again we see instances of the later at the detriment of the former. It is regrettable but true.

I'm not sure what the purpose of putting up this thread was but if it was as a shock tactic of "look at what I found", then I would say you need to take a good hard look at your self and ask "why?". If it was about making others aware of unnecessary cruelty then it lacked a call to action.
