On offer is a red 1998 Honda VTR250 in very good condition. It has served me well as a learner bike, but I have upsized now and it's time for the VTR to go.
This is an excellent leaner bike:
- nice, light and easy to handle
- low seat height and comfortable riding position
- good around town and on the open road (I’ve ridden over the Rimutaka Hill on it plenty of times) and even two up if you have your full license
- around 300km to a tank
- no fairings to scratch if you drop it
- very usable power and torque from its 250 cc v-twin engine.
I bought the bike from Motomart in Lower Hutt in 2007 as the first NZ owner with 23,152km on the clock. It has now done approximately 28,283km.
The bike has been very reliable and flies through the WOF test. It has recently had an oil change, new oil filter and new brake fluid. The tyres were brand new when I bought it and have plenty of wear left in them. I've always kept it under cover.
Registration runs through to August 2010. WOF is current and I’ll arrange a new one before handing it over.
Note that there's a small dent in the fuel tank, some minor scraping to the muffler and a minor tear in the seat all from previous owners (as pictured).
