did you send one back to customer services to validate it? Bit surprising there isn't more of a fanfare and a FROM name... I don't use iTunes so haven't received one before...
I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!
Nah, nothing looks legit about it at all. You might want to go to the iTunes website and see if they've got anything under hoaxes.
I get heaps like that, had one this morning from DHL... which wasn't DHL.
If it were me I'd delete it.
I got one and I dont use iTunes either. straight to the pool room

I got one, ostensibly from gmail, saying they were rearranging their servers and requesting "confirmation" of my login name, password, address, and other stuff - bank account, I think and if I didn't do that, I'd be disconnected in 9 hrs! It all looked very convincing. I just forwarded it to google and deleted it, but, I wonder how many people would have been sucked in?

If it's fake, I'm suprised. Fool-proof email address tho.
If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
Anything unsolicited = junk. For $50 I would check with i-tunes first though. I have lost a computer after the facebook hoax e-mails. Wiped half the registry... I thought I had it cleaned & back up to scratch but the viruses were back within 12 hours. Grrrrrr
i have been getting those plus some from UPS according to xtra they have a virus
I've not received a legit one before so not sure what it should look like, but a zipped attachment doesn't seem right. The instructions from apple to redeem a genuine gift is:
"In the subsequent screen, enter your gift certificate number printed on the front of a paper certificate, or the certificate number in your emailed certificate, in the field."
You would also expect there to be a senders name of someone you know and a personal message.
