    Clutch shudder

im getting real bad clutch shudder when taking off, gear changes seem ok while on the move and it doesnt seem to slip when you gas it, what are the most probable causes? oh yeah its a 1988 honda 600 v twin.

ok assuming wheel bearings & chain aren't terminally poked (have to ask) then likely the steel plates are warped or friction broken, or more likely the basket has some pretty deep grooves. These can be filed out as a bodge but if too bad will need replacement.

pop the cover off & have a looksee. 'Onda baskets of that era should come apart ok with the 4 M6 screws holding the pressure plate in. Let us know what you see, post a pic.
Don't you look at my accountant.
