    Talking Dirt Bike Convert. help!

Hi there, I've decided dirt isn't my thing anymore, been riding for about 3 years.. But the road looks more appealing. =)
Just wondering about a bike for a road noob, those ZXR250's look good >>..

How do I go about getting my learners, I can't get anyone down at the AA for some reason.. Do you need a bike first? I saw there was a skills test so.. hmm..

Anyway, just wanting to know peoples opinions and things on what bike to get, some tips. etc etc etc.

Any help would be appreciated =D (Also, sorry for making another newbie thread... hehe, seems to be a few of us.)

    Thankies in advance.

Can't help you with the licence thing, been too long since I got mine, but there's plenty of newish riders on here that'll be able to fill you in with the up to date info. But welcome aboard.

Try this link and it should answer all your questions mate.

And they do supply a scooter for the basic handling test, because you have ridden off road it will be easy.
Feel the fear and do it anyway

Well, just finished reading up on the road code again, there's some rules that nobody down here seems to follow o.o"" but oh well.
Yeah, it's easy from what I remember, was just wanting to know about any "special motorbike rules". But it seems all good, I'll go do it this weekend-next week sometime ^^.
Then it's bike shopping time! =D

There is a special motorbike edition of the Road Code, it has all the information you need about getting a motorbike licence, including all the specific motorbike questions. Get it out of your local library if you don't want to buy one.
Before you do the scratch and win test you'll need to do a basic handling skills test, should be pretty easy if you've been riding off road for a while. All the details of what you do in the test are in the motorbike road code. Most riding schools will supply a bike for you to do the test on, and give you a chance to practise and get the hang of the bike.
I got my licence a couple of weeks ago, so the whole process is fairly fresh in my mind, if you have any questions.
    Welcome along!
    Rosie.
