And don't forget my American family, they're not true Americans, and I think they're Commies, so they're all good!

Look, if we wanted rational, non-generalisations we'll ask for them, OK

    Hahaha

You all hate the Yanks? Thats something I've never understood. There is an American nurse working at the hospital I work at. Must I hate her? Or tell her I hate her country and all that SHE has done to it?

Oh, wait a minute, she didn't do anything, but I'll hate her anyway.

    This is fun

You think THAT is a nice thing to MAKE our members feel?
I'm sorry, but I hold very little respect for people who generalise SO greatly, and make is SO public you make people feel like the above....

Hmm didn't mean to do that. This thread I'm guessing started as a PT sort of thing (right bugjuice?)
I certainly wasn't taking it serious. A bit used to the 'merkin' hating thing here becouse I'm not a merkin. I'm a Texan, there's a difference.
    Anyway as you were.

    Don't worry about it - i have a theory - (i usually do.)

'Dave's law of folks is folks'
When you go and live in a foreign country you find that people aren't that different. There are good people and there are those you regard as assholes* - in reasonably consistent ratios.
In Australia there are approximately 5 times as many assholes as there are in NZ - simply because there are 5 times as many people. Same for the US by a factor of 50.
Conversely if you put all prejudice aside, you'll find about that many times the amount of people you'll get on with and can call friend.

I believe that anti US sentiment in NZ comes down to the fact that American foreign Policy flat out sucks and doesn't act with popular consent of it's erstwhile allies.

And some of it is the same general piss taking that I cop for the way I say six, chance, dance and france.

Hehe, ok I agree somewhat However, even though there are 5 times as many arseholes in Oz, they are spread around the hole more so you in theory, shouldn't come across any greater percentage of arseholes than you would here...

The BIG problems arise when all the arseholes of one country congregate in one area. Thats when the shit hits the fan

Any idea what percentage of the population, on average, are arseholes? Does this vary greatly between countries?

Technically, if they were in space - they wouldn't be the 'world's' biggest billboards as this usually refers to Earth!

Any one read DECEPTION POINT by Dan Brown? He's the guy who wrote the da Vinci Code. Anyway there's an interestion point of view about privatising NASA in DECEPTION POINT. Space billboards was mentioned.

Not geographic or racial but more dependent on socio-economic conditions. IE: I find it much easier to get on with rich bastards and expensive toys.
