Tonight coming down the Newstead straight (like an arrow straight) in the pissing rain, I was just past the Ruakura road intersection headed towards Morrinsville when I gassed it in 4th on my GPXwith near new sport zero 's front and back, the rear stepped out, steered me into the oncoming lane with the handlebars quickly tapping both sides of the tank (tankslapper?)
I kept my calm, hands and arms relaxed, let off the throttle and at the same time moved my body to match the slide, she settled down with me near the outside white line... I got back in my lane (thank fuck there was nobody coming my way or I wouldnt be here to tell the story) and idled to my place just at the end of the straight (2 mins ride)
Who would have thought that my little 250 could have done that ??? It has been going really well since I got that new cam chain fitted but it got drifting like my old 4 door turb skyline !
I learned a lesson: Wet = careful no matter straight or corner.
Had to share, needed to tell people that know. Wife doesnt get it.
