    Blah Surfing... Kitesurfing?

    Just throwing this out there...

Over the last few months I've been learning to surf, I still suck at it, but yeah, I really enjoy it...

As I only have a bike right now (as always) it makes the surfing thing a bit difficult, so if anyone live in the Auckland Area (I'm in Te Atatu North) and is heading to Muriwai/Maori Bay or even any of the eastern beaches and doesnt mind a surfing companion hit me up! Keen to pay my share of petrol etc

Also, pretty keen to learn to Kitesurf but can't really afford the $150-$200 per lesson, so if anyones keen on giving me some cheap lessons, again... shout out

If you're learning to surf anyway, geting some board skills surfing before moving to kite might make it a bit easier.

I'd offer kite lessons, but I'm shit! BUT it is a potentially dangerous sport so you should make sure you trust the person teaching you. My golden rules: get a helmet, lay your lines down wind, and never have the kite at 12 o'clock unless out in the water ready to go.

    But enjoy!!!!!

better to have learned to windsurf than normal surfing if you want to kite surf, if you cant afford lessons buying the 3 to 4k worth of gear you need will be a bit of a problem

Buying the gear is only expensive if you buy new, heaps of good packages on trademe... just dont know what I'm looking at. I'm not learning to surf to help with kite surfing... I like surfing... I wanna do both

Get a smaller kite and a kart and start off with some kite karting. Better get some good skin protection first!

"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
