i had taken a PS2 slim from NZ and got it modified overseas.however the laser head's busted now and needs to be replaced(my guess) or it might be some other problem....does anyone know of anything with regards to this???

have you tried a lens cleaner? Disc with the little brushes on it.

I don't know how much they are going for but try getting an old busted one off trademe and cannibalising it. That should be much cheaper than getting sony to 'fix'your modded ps2

There is normally laser tracks/assembilies for sale in trademe because this is always happening so I hear, I dont follow the 'scene' as one might say.
