Need to rebuild carbs?

Hi all
I own a 1990 Suzuki GSF400.
If I leave it sitting for mroe than about 5 days it becomes very hard to start. The battery will run flat before the bike starts. I assume this is because all the fuel has evaporated from the fuel bowels.
Does this mean that I need the rebuild the carbs?

NO.
It means you have to set the tap to PRIME before attempting to start it.

Also, you should use FULL Choke, and NO throttle if you don't already.

Lastly, ensure your battery is in top condition. If the voltage gets too low, it won't send any current to the plugs anyway.
The ignition boxes have a low voltage cut out.
If your battery is 20 years old, then replace it.
Don't buy a cheap battery if you only ride it once a week.

What quickbuck said. My previous bike ('89 GSXR-1100) behaved in exactly the same way and that beast could drain a battery very quickly. It was normally ridden 5-6 days per week so no problem starting it, but when it was left for 5+ days I did exactly as quickbuck described above. A bit temperamental, popping and farting a bit but would come right after a few seconds of no throttle, then with very slight throttle to bring the revs up gently and let it warm up.

Ok will try a new battery and see if that helps.
