Yes, exactly, and in my industry, health & safety don't give a rat's about what it costs, or how long it takes, they expect you to do something about it. Even when it hasn't been an issue for decades.

I like the way in america the prisoners have to put their hands outside the door to get them cuffed before they exit the cell, then again to remove them when they go bck into the cell. At all times outside the cell their hands are cuffed. This reduces the effectiveness of their hands in a fight.

In America, if you are pulled over for a traffic violation, you will call the officer SIR. For the most part the officers do command respect, and behave accordingly. I have seen very few young snot noses on patrol on their own over there.

I don't think I've ever seen a US cop without a gun. I also don't think I have seen a cop with less than a couple of years of experience on their own. USA cops are great - if you behave yourself.

They (prisoners) are treated waaaaay more le3niently for idiocy inside the prison than if they were on the street.

They've had their chances - Youth Aid, Probation etc - so no slack should be given for screw-ups while they are in prison, theiy're all loser leches on society.

Pretty much, yeah. You get dickheads wherever you go, and for the most part over there the dickheads are subjected to the same laws as everyone else. Over here it is easier to count the number if IPCA recommendations that have been implemented, rather than those that have been ignored.

I personally have had more positive experiences with US cops than negative. The same can't be said for NZ. I have also spent much more time in NZ than the US, but I like to think my standard of behaviour is consistent.

I've found people to be pretty much the same all over. Sheer size would indicate that the US has a greater number of idiots on both sides of the law
