I'm stunned, and I was well aware of how sick he was, and of course its not like I ever met the guy.

But much of his work had a huge effect on me, I still remember the first time I heard the album Holy Diver, and have played his music nearly every damned day ever since.

Best concert I have ever been to was Heaven and Hell a couple years back, I felt it was a privilage just to be in the crowd he was performing for.

The world has lost one of the greatest talents to have ever lived, Long may he rock.

Today the world is much less metal.

I'll play Holy Diver in his honour tonight.
Stop showing up to the beating.

and another one bites the dust.......wasn't a great fan of his, but he had a unique voice - always recognisable.

    Stomach Cancer! - not nice!
