    Someone got an engine?

    Just bought this: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=288018600
for a bucket (and half for spares).
What engine should I fit in it?
Anyone got one that they want to sell me?

    Cheers
    Max

Race it in pre89 junior and F3,

It would make a great bucket but it would be a much better post classic bike !

Turn it into a bucket if it blows up

should easy get $700 for the motor maybe 150 or 200 for the plastic. Free frame!
put an fxr loncin or an MB or GP motor in it an it will be sweet.
I have a FXR150 in my TZR frame and its great.
Dont listen to the "its too nice to wreck brigade" they all old retired buggers who just moved up from brit bikes.
My neighbours diary says I have boundary issues

I already have one of these: http://www.ysp-nww.com/cgi/used/img/20060122170543.jpg

So it will make a nice spare engine, and a lot of other bits come from the 1kt. So I will get the best bits from each bike and race the rest.

I don't want to race anything bigger than a bucket.

Well if you do make a bucket out of it, make a new engine sub frame; keep everything else together and then you will be able to "upgrade" latter once you are hooked on racing.

Ahh Justin's TZR. Wondered where that had got to. That was a good bike. Haven't seen it in 10 yrs though.

    Righto,
Bike should be arriving in the next couple of days.
Still haven't really sorted out which way I want to go on the engine front. I will fall back onto the loncin if necessary but if someone has something a bit better I would be very keen.
It would have to be 4 stroke unless you have a pipe as well, I just don't have the experience to make my own.

In the mean time I will be doing a complete bodywork overhaul, complete with full fairing (although I know it is completely unecessary).
I think I will go with a carbon fibre top layer with a glass layer behind, and just do one off plugs and melt it out with a solvent.
I stole (i think) Bren_chch's photo to do a little sketch of where I am planning to go with it.
The black bits in the pic will probably be bare carbon.

But the main point is still the engine. If someone has something half decent I would be keen.

    I would love it,
But I would have issues making a pipe.
