Entering my first long range shooting competition

Got a pass from 'She who must be obeyed'

Heading down to the S/I to take part in the "Gunslinger Extreme Long Range Rifle Challenge - this will have targets out to at least 1500m (and possibly out to 2000m). Now that is fun shooting.

First time I have been in a competition like this - like a kid waiting for xmas.

I know there are a ton of shooters here - anyone else going?

Well if your short range shooting accuracy (avatar) is any indication, you should have a good day!

Good fun. Hitting steel plates at 1000m is quite fun and achievable. 2000m is out of my league. Got a leica range finder now and with a drop chart , special curry charged handloads my 3yr old helps load up , deer aren't safe across the valley any more..........

For shits and giggles we have a shooting pad on a station where we shoot across the valley to a flat spot at the end of a weekend, where bunnies seem to love and always a few out . 700-800metres , it certainly shows who can read the wind , has good drop charts , good handloads, and a mate who can call the shots thru a spotting scope lol.

you on the fish and hunt forum tank?

2000m may be well outside my league as well - I haven't shot it yet

Have nice app on iphone to help with the calculations and will be using a friends .50 cal scoped to buggery - so if I fail its simply down to me being crap.

Nope not on fish and hunt forum - will go check it out tho'
