It's back..."Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

R&R Dreams just popped up on my play list.
Meatloaf won't get my vote because the line 'sex and drums and rock and roll' is the biggest pillow in a great song, ever. Drums. Sigh. God bless Ian Dury.

Then there's a old English number that is purely about bikes, no analogies...
Can't remember the title, but part of the lyrics go -
"A burn up on my bike
    That's what I like"
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

There have been crescendo songs all through the history of rock.

That platter the the DJ kept aside (in the days when the turntable was a device for playing a recording rather than scratching the crap of it). This platter would be played to get the joint really partying. Usually one or two tracks prior to the ritual playing of 'closing time'.

The Blockheads 'Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll' was that song from the late 70's till the mid 80's. A bit like 'Bliss', 'Tubthumping', and several others thereafter.

When meaty bellows 'drums' it triggers a 'that ain't right' mental face palm. Pillow.

Still a great song though innit.

Then there is AC/DC's Jailbreak...14m30s version, or She's Got the Jack ...or Ride on.....

It really depends on the bike /road/ conditions/ mood when you listen to the tune.

    JUST FOR KICKS
    (Mike Sarne)
    MIKE SARNE (PARLOPHONE R 4974, 1963)

If there's one thing that I like
It's a burn up on my bike
A burn up with a bird up on my bike
Now the M1 ain't much fun
Till you try and do a ton
A burn up on my bike, that's what I like

Just for kicks, I ride all through the night
My bird hangs on in fright
When I do the ton for kicks

When my bird decides to turn up
I'm off to have a burn up
A burn up with a bird up on my bike
When I pass a little scooter
I blast him with my hooter
A burn up on my bike, that's what I like

Just for kicks, I ride all through the night
My bird hangs on in fright
When I do the ton for kicks

We meet the other ton-up boys at Fred's Cave every night
We just drop in to see the birds and sometimes have a bite
We spend a couple of hours just tunin' our machines
With our black leather jackets and our oily greasy jeans

If there's one thing that I like
It's a burn up on my bike
A burn up with a bird up on my bike
Now the M1 ain't much fun
Till you try and do a ton
A burn up on my bike, that's what I like

Just for kicks, I ride all through the night
My bird hangs on in fright
When I do the ton for kicks

Just for kicks, I ride all through the night
My bird hangs on in fright
When I do the ton for kicks

Also recorded by Black Cat (EP For Rockers Only)

Note: Use of the word "ton" for 100 has been around for at least 40 years - with "the ton-up boys" on their cafe racers, "doing the ton" all referring to achieving 100mph.
"If you haven't grown up by the time you turn 50, you don't have to!"

And wtf is up with people posting songs about tour buses?, They're not bikes, They're buses.

Fail. 'Born to be wild' is the clear poll leader by a healthy margin.

The Folk Song 'Vincent 1952' is the only one that has got more than 2 votes in the 'other' section.

I'll add yours to the playlist shortly.

There is a UK Subs song called 500cc (Its on "Brand New Age" from 1979 1980) It appears to not be on YT for some odd reason. You will recall their "hits" Warhead, "Stranglehold" Party in Paris and "New York State Police" no doubt
