Hey Beemer!! Us Amazons aren't giants, merely, er, well built!
I'm 173 too, and I've just bought my GN250. I can get my feet on the ground with a substantial bend in my legs. It's not the bike I REALLY want (though I want it pretty bad till it gets to Wellington anyway), but it's a good 'solid' learner bike, and I'm kind of an apprehensive/take-it-easy learner anyway, so I figured it'd look after me. I got it quite inexpensively, for a 2005 bike (only $2000) which appealed as I don't do maintenance (engines? enigmas more like!). So to summarise:
1) GN250. Blue. Won't have a name till I meet her, but will be christened soon after. The one I used for my basic skills was named "Bluetooth" (she was blue, her number was 2).
2) I forget the order of the questions. I'm in Wellington
3) I've been riding for, um, 4 days.
4) Would like to, I fancy the idea of taking things apart, cleaning them up, putting them back together again, and then hiding the part that didn't make it into the reconstruction!
It is easier to accept the message of the stars than the message of the salt desert. The stars speak of man's insignificance in the long eternity of time; the desert speaks of his insignificance right now. - Edwin Way Teale 1956
