    FXR150 clutch diagram

    FXR150 suddenly decided to go deviant in the clutch department. Shaft that goes into case removes without any resistance. Is there something that is supposed to prevent this?

    What started all this was the action of clutch lever all of a sudden stopped engaging the clutch.

    The worm gear style engagement does not prevent the removal of the shaft, there is about 1/16 of a turn slack in the rotation of the shaft

    In order (from the top) spring, flat washer, oil seal, thrust washer, shaft.....surely the oil seal is not sufficient to retain the shaft.

    Does anyone have a copy of the clutch diagram so I can make sure nothing is MIA and lurking in the bottom of the sump, Pumba is worried

    Yep that sounds about right to me.
    I had the whole shaft pull out of the motor during a crash at Roys Hill when the clutch lever got hauled way past where it should in an unfortunate encounter with the ground. Got everything back in there, took the actuator arm off, got the cable free length as long as I could on the adjuster and put the arm back on then adjusted. Has worked fine since, was amazed the the only thing holding the whole plot in there was the oil seal but that seems the way it is. Just had a look at the parts list and it seems to confirm.

    Yeah, that is seriously how it goes, silly aye!
    The only things holding it in there are a bit of friction and gravity!

    I think the spring tension contributes alot to holding it in, when str8s spring broke I adapted it to a linear spring.

    Make sure you have plenty of crankcase breathing or it will pop out with excessive pressure buildup!

    RG150s have a cam lock kind of thing so it won't pull out in the normal range of motion, guess that must have cost those few cents extra...

    Clutch issue just got VERY interesting....

    Take cover off, centre of clutch, the ladder side of the setup....fairly sloppy....put it all back together, if I pull clutch lever in, still will not engage clutch, wheel locked in gear.

    So , I encourage the shaft to turn another 20 degrees, and it still does not engage clutch, you simply could not turn any further , the arm is now touching the cable end....me thinks big problem some where

    SOLVED:

    Pulled out clutch plates, gave them a scuff up, re-oiled......reassembled - juts needs bedding in a little - but we have a clutch back!

    Vewy good gwasshopper. I had to fix the traverse clutch pack on the mill at work. 16 plates plus the front and rear retainers. All needed a serious roughing up.
