    Auckland Buckets 15-16 May

Some pictures of Saturday before the rain came down and we all went soft and headed for drier places.

CARB (Anyone got a working spare.......)

Gonna pop along to the track tomorrow....bike still not ready...but thought we take a look see anyway...

I am on the hunt for a carb.....carbs have never been my strongest point....I cannot get this GN250 carb working.....for love or money...

Anyone got a GOOD KNOWN WORKING solution that want to part with for the right money?

    Cheers

JUst can't keep it running....gave the carb a good clean out, need a seat look ok....noticed that the main jet emulsion tube was a bit sludgy, so that got the treatment too.....

Now this is gonna sound dumb- but in the bowel, in front of the mainjet, on the intake manifold side, there appears to be another much smaller jet - but it is 100% blocked.....surely this is not right?

On the intake side, I am not familiar with the layout of the GN carb but I would assume that is your pilot jet. If that is blocked well it wouldnt idle and the bike would not run bellow about 1/4 throttle

Sorry was distracted by a clash between police and a group of youths outside my house... 2 arrested lol, anywho Im not a mechanic but sounds like pumbas onto somthing there, is this the jet that connects to the mix control screw... could be blocking fuel or air flow? again I reinforse Im not a mechanic just a guy who learns by taking things apart and studying them... have not studies my Gn carb yet.. just tokk my 125cc old carb apart and going off that at the min... hope we can get tot the bottom of this, weres a mechanic when you need one eh?

Sounds like the pilot jet. Unfortunately every spare carb I know of is a stock FXR job with a shot diaphragm
