It's been a tough descision all round really.

My kids are obviously here, as are a huge number of really good friends I've been fortunate to make.

Thing is, Auckland's only a 6.5hr ride from Wellington and I'll be back down here frequently. Visiting the kids and what not.

I am really going to miss Wellington and it's people though.

6.5 hrs with a rest stop long enough to read Penthouse cover to cover on the bog? I knew guys on Spuzuki's who could do it in less than 5.5 over 20 yrs ago! Once you're in Orcland you'll learn to ride like that....

Already can. Just didn't want any abuse from our local constabularity for my actions............

Actually, my record stands at 6 hrs 10 mins from Papkura to Newlands, via 22 and Paraparas. Not generally regarded as "the quick way" so I'm sure I can improve.

Sorry,I stand corrected - I can do it in 12hrs,but usualy take a couple of days,and that's trying hard....

Last time I went to Wellington, it took about 12 hours as well. And that was a combined effort of me and Trashy going pretty fast, which included getting 1 speeding ticket!

Yeah. But the second half of the journey only took 2 and a half hours mate! Fucken glad I got that ticket where we did.
