Blenheim to the Brass on a c50

As it is the 30th Brass Monkey we thought we would do it differently,
Blenheim to the Brass on 50cc scooters, about five of us are going to tackle it including my wife.
    I am riding a c50 stepthrough that i paid $25 for.
Will be riding with no back up vehicle and carrying all the gear required for the journey and traveling the roads less traveled, through the center of the McKenzie country gravel roads and then the Danseys Pass.
Was too easy on the Busa , mind you i would rather have an off on one of these beasts than the Busa.

Awesome... an adventure thats what I like to here. Mind you its been done many a time ex Chch so Blenhiem may be a new distance record.
Do take cear tho a mate was killed on a 50 headed to the brass in the 80's as gay as they are a day glow vest wouldnt be silly.
As you dont have a back up cage closer to the time get my number just n case, you will be fine on a Honda but what are the others riding
    cheers DD

We be riding there and back and the 50s will be great on the hills , we will just have to pull over every now and again to let the cyclists go past.

Scooter will be great way to do it. One trip to the Brass we got off the ferry following a girl on a vespa heading to the rally and we thought "Oh really". We were sitting at the Oteahura pub and she went wizzing past while we were having our last beer before checking into the site.

I also went down to the 2006 Burt from Auckland with a guy on a scooter, mind you he was wearing Dianese one peice leathers, so he was cool to the max.

Good luck and enjoy your trip Pete. Will call you in transit as we leave on the Thurs afternoon from Christchurch and stay at a wee place before Hampden called the Olive Grove. We have a backup vehicle heaven forbid! should you need to lighten your load if wind resistance and aerodynamics play a major role in your fuel consumption and cruise speed. Oh and please take lots of photos as no ones believes me when I tell em a man with the ultimate road machine whose starter motor puts out more HP than the bike he is gunna take to the Brass. Txt me if you need anythin taken Pete!
B Safe... rubber side down in all that!..oh and u turnin cops!

Scooters are a complete curse... Even though I have plenty of choices of what to ride and drive, I still regularly commute to work on a battered old TGB moped. Enjoy your trip, [jealous]
