Sick of soccer wish it would go away!!
Love soccer want to hear more!!
Soccer players are Poofters [except scracha...coz he's tuff and mean!!]
Soccer players are real Men!!
Soccer is over represented in sports news
Soccer needs further representation in sports news
Will All whites win anything at world cup
Will all whites loose every game at world cup
Do you follow soccer in NZ and overseas religiously?
Do you think Craig Shirriff's eats to many pies?
I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!
for every person who is sick of a particular sport there will be someone who is sick of whatever your favourite sport is, so who is wrong, is anybody wrong?? i used to play football years ago my sons all play football and one even went to Ireland to play. Personally i wouldnt watch rugby either on the tv or at a sports feild in fact i used to get free tickets to carisbrook and would give them away to somebody that liked rugby, to much kicking the ball out for me and i dont see any skill in running with a ball tucked under your arm. But if you like rugby thats fine just dont complain because football is getting a bit of coverage i think you will find that rugby still gets 90% of news etc
Sick of hearing about it? Eh....considering it's the first world cup we've been to in yonks I'd say there's hardly been any coverage old chap. Hell, you hear more about golf, sailing and netball in this colony.
Oh I dunno poos. After playing a hard fought game in the pishing rain in Hamilton yesterday with 2 players off to hospital I stopped and watched the Uni rugger team for 20 minutes. Wot with all the stopping to face up and cuddle each other (scrummages or summit I believe), line outs and general hold ups from forward passes, I reckon there was about 10 minutes of actual play. And now many subs....can't rugby players take a knock or last the distance?
Rugby players wouldn't last 90 minutes in a soccer game. They'd be out of puff after 10 minutes or pleading to be substituted after a wee tap on the shin.
Last but not least, soccer supporters totally own rugby supporters. They should louder, the sing better, they swear better, they fight better and they drink far more before a game.
It's not a man's sport.
I've been watching a bit of soccer lately, and I've figured it out:
There are two teams of 11 guys. One gets picked before they run on and is made to stay in a kind of cage thing at the back of the field and he's not allowed to play by his team (he must have done something to piss the others off). The teams take turns to kick the ball around amongst each other, and the goal is to stop the other team from joining in. If the other team get the ball, then they can kick it around for a bit. If two opposing players touch each other one or both have to fall on the ground and pretend to be dying, and the one who does the best job gets a free turn with the ball for his team.
Every now and again the teams try and pass the ball to the poor bastard stuck in the cage. I think this is to piss his team mates off. If he misses the ball and the ball goes in the cage all the plaayers on the side who kicked the ball hug each other and the one who kicked the ball runs around the paddock with his shirt lifted up. He becomes the team shirtlifter and gets special treatment after the game.
After several hours of this they wind the game up and the frustrated and bored spectators beat the crap out of each other.
Don't blame me, I voted Green.
So you're no doubt fascinated by how you have taken offense at the views of someone (me) who's opinion doesn't (or at least shouldn't) affect you? And am I right in thinking that you believe this thread should only hold the views of people who like soccer?
Your sensitiivity is admirable; you would make a great soccer player.
Don't blame me, I voted Green.
pot-kettle? The reason your life is so sad that you spend your time bitching about my opinion of soccer and not riding your bike is?
You've given me a good laugh my lad, cheers for that. And my post achieved it's desired effect in that it wound up a soccer supporter. Personally I have no interest in ball games of any genre; my preferred sport is toying with people and I am grateful you entertained me by playing my little game with me on this cold and bleak winters morning.
Don't blame me, I voted Green.
