Right footrest hanger/bracket for 1988 Honda Spada VT250F

I'm after the right footpeg bracket off a 1988/1989 Spada MC20, mine was broken when the bike was stolen 2 weeks ago.

Called a few wreckers with no luck, no one seems to be wrecking this model

I will offer $120 if anyone has this part

    >Photo is of the left side bracket but looks similar to the right

Can the broken one not be repaired (welded)?

if its cast ali it can be welded, but it wont ever be as strong as it was - esp if it has be caked with grease / road grime for a number of years.

I've taken the part to a couple of places who all say it's too brittle to weld together

measure the distance between the hole centres: it looks almost identical to the stock one on my VFR400 (they are made of cheese). If it is about 70mm you might find aftermarket ones will be the go.

I recently bought aftermarket brackets and stuff for super cheap. Of course they wont fit without some faffing about but the price was right. I did buy a set off ebay before the price went mental:

something like this: 118 squid is about $250 at current rates.

if you look hard on ebay you'll likely find what you want. Stuff out of the UK is usually very quick and painless, and cheap to post. And our money goes way further than it used to.

have got a parts vt250 at my parents place, fairly sure it's a FE though not a spada, so the pegs have big long bits on the back for the pillion as well. If the spacings are all good the backs could be machined off easy as though. If you want to give me some measurements I could check em out...
